Last night, Aps and I got hammered. No way to sugar coat it. The Sabres were playing, which is obviously as good an excuse as anything, so we headed back for this season's third visit to Kelly's Sports Bar on Avenue A. Labatt Blue Tallboys, set against preemptive victory shots of Jameson's Irish Whiskey, make for a delightful evening. Believe me.
So, what did we do? We recorded a Streetcast! A very poorly thought-out, rambling streetcast wherein we discuss the Sabres SO win over the Senators (as if we were even conscious of the details of the game) and touch briefly on some final thoughts about the Bills match-up against the Jets today. This is a noticeably inferior piece of audio commentary, to be sure, and my better angels are screaming at me to let these 10+ minutes of audio die a quick death in the ether of the interwebs. But, fuck it. What's the point of recording a streetcast and looking like a crazy person on Avenue A (which is fucking full of crazy people), if I'm going to hide behind the "I was a drunk idiot" excuse?
Before you click for a listen, a couple thoughts: (1) if you only have a couple minutes for Deeg content today, DON'T LISTEN TO THIS. Listen to our CrapTastiCast #17, or read any of the great posts by Scizz and Yachter over the past few days. As noted above, this is likely crap, so be sure to prioritize. (2) As un-sober as I was, it probably shouldn't be too much of a surprise that I rambled myself into a stream of consciousness that included a reference to the "Giants" when I meant the "Jets." Apologist, as we left the bar, admitted that he noticed this error on my part, and I think we can all agree that it would be a little less uncomfortable to listen to if he had simply spoken up and called foul on my drunken boobery. Ah well.
Either way, it was a nice little win last night as the Sabres get themselves further on track while further igniting the fires of goalie controversy. And, with any luck, the Bills will continue the winning ways of the weekend against those Jets from New Jersey. Enjoy your Sundays, Buffalo fans, and - to the extent possible - enjoy our Streetcast.
Let's Go Buffalo.
