But Kelly didn't just field questions about golf, of course. And when Jimbo talks, we hear at DGWUSports listen. Kelly was asked about the offense and here's what he had to say (quoted from Chris Brown's sports blog)...
"But I think what I've seen looks alright. Now it's going out there, getting the play into them quick enough and letting them go with it... If it's a no huddle offense let them run the no huddle offense.
"I think they'll do alright, and you know what? The bottom line is they have no other choice."
You tell 'em, Jim!
Now the Yachtsman plans on writing more about this later, but I think I speak for most Bills fans when I say that if Turk Schonert DOESN'T listen to Jim Kelly's input on a no-huddle strategy, then he needs to be dragged out into the street and beaten within an inch of his life... ok, maybe not an inch, maybe a few feet, but he deserves a beatdown. Then Van Pelt could take his rightful place on the sideline.
(Sidenote: In all seriousness, wouldn't you feel more comfortable looking at the sidelines and seeing Van Pelt with the headset and clipboard? I know I would. As a matter of fact, if he threw on pads, a uni and a baseball cap, like the old days, I bet it would up the offense's production by at least 7 points a game.)
Kelly was also asked how he felt about the new addition to the receiving corps, Terrell Owens (also lifted from Chris Brown's blog)...
"To be honest with you, you need something to stir up that locker room and get the team excited again," said Kelly. "All he can ask for is an opportunity to come in and show he wants to be part of this team. One thing you can say about T.O. is he's a football player. He wants to be good, he wants to be the best and he's going to give you everything he's got on the football field. He's Mr. Touchdown."
Over 1,000 people decided to start calling T.O. 'Mr. Touchdown' after reading that.
Stay tuned for more commentary by the Yachtsman...
