Not only did Darcy Regier go out and make an opening day free agent signing, but they did so with a big, hard-working, tough-as-nails Defenseman!
Steve Montador, formerly of the Bruins, Ducks, and Flames, has signed a 2 year deal with Buffalo Sabres.
Monty (which I'm certain is his nickname) logged 143 penalty minutes last year, and will not hesitate to throw down. Unlike a certain douchebag blogger, that shall go unnamed, who should be lit on fire and thrown under a bus.
Ok, sorry for that last part, but seriously, for 3.1 million over 2 years, I think this is a solid move. My only real fear now is that this is the ONLY move Darcy makes, thus disappointing the Buffalo masses, and forcing me to convince the Yachtsman not to commit first-degree murder. Have you read his Larry Quinn column?
