The Apologist
It appears that the gang down at 1 Bills Drive wasn't done, even after making eight picks in this weekends draft.

According to the (get ready) Spartanburg Herald-Journal (yeah that's right, I said it), former Furman University offensive tackle Joel Bell has agreed to a three-year deal with the Bills. Until we know how much the contract is worth, it's hard to argue for or against this. However, physically, he's the same as Brad Butler & Kirk Chambers (6'7" / 315). So maybe (MAYBE) in a year or two he bulks up and replaces one of them? Maybe?

Meanwhile, Lex18 News (Lexington, Kentucky) reports that former University of Kentucky defensive end Ventrell Jenkins signed with the Bills as well. Jenkins spent his first three years at tackle and then switched to end in his senior year and I would assume that versatility is appealing to Jauron & Co. He must have been pretty far under the radar (or I'm just not very good at internet research yet), because this was the most in-depth web page I could find on him (dead link).

The Honolulu Star-Bulletin reports that former University of Hawaii linebacker Solomon Elimimian has agreed to attend the Bills' mini-camp this week, but he has not signed yet. Apparently Elimimian had narrowed it down to Detroit, Chicago or Buffalo. Chicago offered him a free-agent deal, but he turned it down. He probably would never have taken any time from Lance Briggs, but maybe he can give Keith Ellison a run for his money.

And make that five defensive backs we picked up this off-season... according to RocketDigest.com, the Buffalo Bills have also signed former University of Toledo defensive back Tyrrell Herbert. The lone highlight of Herbert's career came at the expense of the Yachtsman's mental health. Last year, in the Rockets' 13-10 victory over the Michigan Wolverines, Herbert scored the team's only touchdown on a 100-yard interception return (one of his two picks that game).
As with the rest of the Bills' new additions, only time will tell which moves are smart and which weren't. Stay tuned for more opinions on all the newest members of the Buffalo Bills from DGWUS....
