That little guy up there just about wraps up the feelings of a Buffalo sports fan this time of year. The Sabres have either been eliminated from an early round or missed the playoffs entirely. The Bills are preparing for a draft in which they will select another RB or DB they don't need. And finally, we, the fans, have all turned against each other on social media in order to make ourselves feel better and justify our fandom as better than the other guy. THIS IS SWELL!
No worries! Today is a day of hope, and with neither the Bills or Sabres gracing our televisions, we can all enjoy a day with our family and friends (and in the case of most the Deeg, alcohol).
And how about those Buffalo Bills? Again, don't complain today! Stop picturing Shawne Merriman doubled over in pain and Chris Kelsay running past Mark Sanchez, and instead picture Mario Williams and Mark Anderson standing over a bloody Tom Brady with Bill Belichick in tears. Stevie Johnson will go over over 1,000 yards for the 3rd straight year, while Ryan Fitzpatrick will look amazing without those cracked ribs. Of course, Fred Jackson will be getting a new contract in a few short weeks, forming a dominating tandem in the backfield with a re-energized C.J. Spiller. All is good in the world! Chris Hairston > Bastard son of Karl Malone! HOLIDAYS!
And finally, you can always have hope about other Sports. Here at the Deeg we are excited about the Knicks clinging onto that 8th playoff seed in the East, and our baseball teams are starting strong. Both the Mets and Orioles are undefeated to start the season, while those frontrunner Red Sox and Yankee fans can suck it while their teams look god awful! And the Cubs.....nevermind.
Stay hopeful and enjoy your day. Tomorrow I'll go back to hating Lindy Ruff and sending death threats to Russ Brandon. Happy Easter to you and your family. Except you, Tim Tebow. We all know you are the anti-christ.
