According to BuffaloBills.com lead journalist, Chris Brown (there's an excellent metaphor waiting to be written here, but I'm only halfway through my coffee), John DiGiorgio's recovery from a torn ACL is going well. Although he is not at 100% yet and has been unable to perform in mini-camp, he is aiming at being ready to go once training camp starts. The note of interest in the article is that apparently Jauron & Co. are asking DiGiorgio to learn all three linebacker positions...
Hey Jauron ... the Rams just released Pisa Tinoisamoa, their leading tackler last year, and you let Angelo Crowell walk over to the Buccaneers (watch him have a MONSTER year) ... why not grab one of those guys and NOT try to turn another perennial back-up into your utility guy?! Or do you think we don't need any depth at the WEAKEST SECTION OF OUR DEFENSE!?!?
*sigh* This is one of those moments as a Bills fan, where the season hasn't started yet, but you already know where a source of disapointment is going to develop...
In other news, a couple of Sabres helped Team Canada advance to the gold medal game of the World Hockey Championship yesterday. Coach Lindy Ruff watched from the bench as Derek Roy scored 2 of Team Canada's 3 goals in a win over Sweden. They will play Russia in the final round.
A Russian journalist asked Ruff if he and Team Canada would be satisfied with simply making the gold medal game.
"We will not be satisfied and I am sure the Russians would not be satisfied, either," said Ruff. "Somebody will leave unsatisfied on Sunday."
For anyone whose curious, Roy was put on a line with Steve Stamkos and Martin St. Louis of the Tampa Bay Lightening.
