AoB is back by popular demand! And by popular demand, of course, I'm referring to a incredibly miniscule handful of readers/listeners. But seriously, even if you aren't a huge basketball fan, this is a fun podcast to listen to. Fun was had by all and I believe it to be the bee's knees. Moving on....
This past Saturday night, the Yachtsman and myself gathered in his backyard in Brooklyn with some rare beer and even rarer 58 degree January weather to talk NBA hoops.
-A recap of the Knicks 2 - 4 start, as well as a preview of their game against the Pistons, which naturally, has already occurred (23 point win, baby!)
-The unintentional comedy of Walt Frazier and Marv Albert.
-Suggestions for teams to start following if you've decided to become a new NBA fan.
-The firing of Paul Westphal in Sacramento.
-Sir Charles Barkley's recent comments that the Eastern conference is the worst he has seen in his life.
-We follow that by bragging like a couple of assholes about going to see Barkley host SNL later that night. (Note: Front row, so we should have worn Deeg t-shirts. Also, we did in fact make it to 7am as we state in the podcast.)
-There are also several plane breaks, a new nickname for Scizz, delicious beer discussion, and Yachtsman hating on podcast singing.
-Finally, we end by giving props to the NBA for their anti-gay slur campaign that was been running during the games. You can watch it on the bottom of this post.
We also decided to give you listeners all NYC hip-hop in the show. It starts with New York State of Mind by Nas, the break is Return of the Crooklyn Dodgers by Jeru The Damaja, Chubb Rock, and O.C., and we end it with a famous song from a little Brooklyn group called the Beastie Boys. If you have any suggestions for topics OR songs for the next podcast, let us know by e-mailing deargodwhyussports@gmail.com or hit us on twitter @DGWUSports.
Cheers.
